Respecting Privacy Laws
Sustainable Prosperity, throughout its network and administrative operations, is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals. In addition, Sustainable Prosperity is continually monitoring federal and provincial legislation specific to online privacy and is committed to conformance with any regulations applicable to our organization.
Generally users do not have to provide personal information to visit Sustainable Prosperity’s Web site or to download information, but there are some exceptions. Below provides details as to how Sustainable Prosperity collects, stores and maintains personal information.
Information Collection and Use
Personal information is not shared with a third party, only people within Sustainable Prosperity who need access to the information from our websites can access it. For example, in order to send out newsletters, we ask for names and e-mail addresses.
We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order or legal process served on Sustainable Prosperity.
Monitoring of Web-Site Traffic
Like most Web servers on the Internet, Sustainable Prosperity’s Web servers maintain access logs that record Web browser activity. These logs associate an Internet Protocol (IP) address with each request for content from the servers.
Server logs including these IP addresses are used by the Sustainable Prosperity to analyze Web traffic. Data from these logs help us understand what information and services are of most interest to visitors and help us visualize the geographic origination of visitors.
Generally, the nature of Internet addressing allows Sustainable Prosperity to associate any IP address with a particular Internet Service Provider or network. Sustainable Prosperity makes no attempt to associate these IP addresses with the personal information of an individual site visitor.
In a case of abuse of our Web sites, Sustainable Prosperity may report the IP address of a suspected abuser to the appropriate law enforcement authorities.
In addition to your IP address our servers automatically collect limited information for traffic monitoring and statistical purposes. We cannot identify you from this information. We collect the following:
- The Operating Systems and the types and versions of browsers used to access the site
- The date and time the site is accessed
- The pages visited
- The key words used in the search engine
- The name and size of files requested
- The URL of any referring website
SP Might use ‘Cookies’
Sustainable Prosperity servers are able to use "cookie" technology to keep track of the Web browsers with which they are communicating. This information allows us to provide continuous improvement to the web site. If you do not allow the collection of ‘cookies’ you will still be able to use Sustainable Prosperity, but there may be areas which are limited in this circumstance.
Sustainable Prosperity is committed to the security of personal information it may collect online or offline. Sustainable Prosperity has taken reasonable precautions to protect this personal information from loss, misuse or alteration. Any third parties who may have roles in managing such information on behalf of Sustainable Prosperity are also committed to the same principles.
External Website Links
Sustainable Prosperity Web site (www.sustainableprosperity.ca) includes links to third party Web pages or sites which are destinations over which we have no control. Sustainable Prosperity is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of such external sites.
If at any time on our websites (www.sustainableprosperity.ca) you register for a newsletter, survey, or event, your information will be stored only for the express purpose in which it was provided to SP and will at no point be added to a general contact list, unless otherwise indicated, or passed to a third party. We may use this information to contact you if there are significant changes to the service or event you have signed up for.
Unsubscribe or Modify Personal Information
If you subscribed to the Sustainable Prosperity newsletter or contact list you may unsubscribe and/ or modify your information at anytime by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org .
When you contact Sustaianble Prosperity through our general contact/inquiry form on the web site we collect only the personal information in which you provide to us. Information such as name, company and email address is used to properly respond to your inquiry. At no point will this information be added to a general contact list or shared with a third party.
Notification of Changes
Sustainable Prosperity may modify this policy from at any point in time. If that happens, notification of such changes will be posted along with the latest version of this privacy statement.
